Microsoftonly launched the Surface Laptop Go at the end November. Now, the first firmware update is available for the entry-level device. The update brings many improvements and is recommended for all users.
Surface Laptop Go owners now have access to the new firmware and driver updates. This is the first Microsoft software update to be released since the Surface series device was launched. The Surface Laptop Go is available in the USA and Germany since October, while it was not yet available in Germany.
It’s interesting to note that the first update is generally released so late. The group publishes the first bug fix update within a few days after the launch of new devices on the market. This time, it didn’t seem to be necessary.
Microsoft has released the first firmware update to the Surface Laptop Go. It brings some improvements. Microsoft will improve the performance of Windows Hello’s fingerprint reader in all Surface Laptop Go models, as well as telemetry improvements, and overall system stability.
These updates have been updated:
- ELAN Fingerprint-Biometrics Version 3.15.12011.10134: Enhances the performance and usability of the Windows Hello fingerprint reader
- Surface System Telemetry Version 220.127.116.11: Allows for the analysis of energy- and heat-related data
- Surface – Firmware Version 18.104.22.168: Increases touch stability
- Surface firmware version 22.214.171.124: Improves system stability
All users are advised to update and it is available via automatic Windows updates. There are no current indications of any further bug fixes.
The Surface Laptop Go comes in three colors: platinum, sandstone and ice. The Microsoft store talks about a delivery time of two to three days. You can currently purchase equipment for between 613 to 974 euros. There are also bundles that include additional accessories or software.
