343 Industries has apologized and announced the large download size for Halo Infinite… and no preload.
Preloading a game allows you to save time and get it out before the official launch. Those with slow internet connections might struggle to access the campaign for hours.
When should Halo Infinite campaign launch time be?
A> Halo Infinite’s campaign will be released at 10 am PST/1 pm EST/6 pm GMT on December 8, 2021. Technically, this is true. However, it might not be the case. You will need to wait until the game is available to download.
Halo Infinite campaign download sizes
According to a Halo Support Twitter account post, download sizes for Halo Infinite campaigns will differ significantly between people who have the multiplayer installed.
The file size for installing the multiplayer-only from 10amPST/1 pm EST/6 pm GMT with no prior Halo Infinite installation will be 26.53GB, while the MP and campaign together will be a rather large 48.42GB.
If you have Halo Infinite multiplayer beta installed on your Xbox console or PC, it will be reduced to 3.97GB for multiplayer updates, 25.86GB campaign installation and 29.83GB combined.
These sizes can vary depending on your platform. It is highly recommended that you download the multiplayer as soon as possible to reduce the size of your full download.

Developer 343 Industries Community Director Brian Jarrard acknowledged and apologized for the no Halo Infinite preload campaign in a tweet on December 8, 2021. We can take this to indicate that things might be different for future Halo games or other 343 Industries games.
