Apocalypse is the first game in the X-COM series that offers real-time combat as well as traditional turn-based gameplay. Apocalypse has a new interface and graphics.
It’s more complicated, and the task to maintain and increase the funding for X-COM is now more difficult.
This includes intercepting UFOs as well as minimizing collateral damage and preventing alien hostile takeovers.
