Cris Tales, an indie love letter to JRPGs of the past with a fresh perspective, is Cris Tales. You can look into the past and act in the present while you play, and see how your actions affect the future. The Time Mage Crisbell has been awakened and must embark on a journey with her magical companions across a dark, fairytale-like world that faces a grim future. Crispell must travel across Crystallis, the four Kingdoms to stop the Time Empress and rewrite history for the world. She’ll also meet and recruit powerful allies, each with their own stories and skills, such as Matias The Frog and Willhelm Child Mage.
Crispell will face difficult choices as she travels around the globe and meets new companions. These choices will have far-reaching implications for the people she meets, which will affect the world she will experience along her journey. As you confront these decisions and the many enemies that stand in your path, each companion will prove invaluable. You can either pound them with attacks or find creative ways to make Crisbell’s time powers work for you.
Beautifully drawn 2D art is animated frame-by-frame to show the futures and branching pasts of each enemy, region, and NPC. This animation spans more than 20 hours.
