The new AirPods Pro 2 might have a smaller range of features than we expected. Apple has not made significant progress in this area, despite the existence of various sensors and fitness functions in the initial release. Experts believe so.

Apple will present the second generation AirPods Pro with the successor to its Truly Wireless active Noise Cancelling (ANC), headphones, almost three years after the first. Official presentation will be held in fall alongside the iPhone 14 (Pro). As is the case with all things, speculation over the new features of the earbuds has been building for a few months prior to the official presentation. This was revealed last week in a series of leaks from Far East. But, many people are still unsure about their expectations.

The hope for fitness tracker features is fading.
Mark Gurman, a Bloomberg reporter and Apple expert, responds to rumors from the past in his weekly newsletter. Gurman is skeptical that the new AirPods Pro 2 will have body temperature and heart rate sensors. These sensors will not be part of the headset upgrade in 2024, according to sources.

He also confirmed that Apple is working on these features. The AirPods Pro2 charging case is in dire need of improvement, aside from possible health and fitness features. The housing could also have a microphone built in that picks up sound from the Lightning port and transmits it to the wireless headphones. This would be a great way to aid hearing loss.

Gurman does not comment on the AirPods charging case rumors contrary to what was stated in the sensor question. This should be seen with some skepticism.
