Inflation: Riot Games raises prices for microtransactions in League

The world is in its clutches because of the economic crisis and inflation . Two more crypto currencies have fallen, but things are getting worse: The cost of League of Legends in-game purchases is on the rise, Riot Games announced. There are two more weeks of discounts before that.

Inflation reaches Runeterra

As the developer explained it, prices for TFT and RP coins in League of Legends will “adjusted” on August 19, 2022. However, this is not a global price increase. Riot Games attempts to list the reasons for each one.

There is inflation in the world, currency fluctuations, and a desire for fair prices within and between different regions. This is, for instance, the relationship between prices within Europe and the US. The euro is currently at its lowest level in 20 decades, meaning that US players theoretically pay higher prices.

To account for currency movements and global inflation, the prices of RP coins and TFT coins will rise in Riot regions. This is to ensure fair prices within and between regions and consistency between our products and any other cost increases. Although our annual price reviews are often limited to a few regions, this year’s analysis showed economic shifts that had a global impact.

This suggests Riot Games may be raising prices in the country. However, this is not true. Six separate packs of currency in-game are 9.8 percent more costly in euros than in dollars. This is 10.9 percent in British Pounds. The developer points out that higher costs were also considered, but he didn’t give any specifics.

It’s about consistency with other productions in your portfolio, which is what tactical shooter Valorant is. His in-game currency Valorant Points is yet to be determined if it will become more costly. In any event, inflation currently stands at 9.8 percent. Even after inflation adjustments, it is clear that the cost of living is increasing. Riot Games has added a customer-friendly feature: it will allow you to purchase a champion skin starting at 1,350 RP in one transaction.

Game Pass and Discount Promotion as an Alternative

The developer offers two weeks of discounts to get you in the habit of buying before the prices rise. Players will receive double the amount of bonus coins for every currency purchase, not the entire amount, but the equivalent amount as a Pack size increasing bonus. Game Pass is a way to get out of the rut for those who only want to buy. Games from Riot Games were not included in the Microsoft game subscription at the beginning June. Subscribers get all champions in League of Legends. They even need to be purchased with RP.
