The Last Guardian is an action-adventure video game developed by SIE Japan Studio. Sony Interactive Entertainment published it on the PlayStation 4. The player controls an unnamed boy who must cooperate with a half-bird-half-mammal creature, Trico, to solve puzzles and explore areas. Trico (toriko Toriko) is the name of the creature. It can be translated as “prisoner” or “baby bird,” depending on whether it’s Niao not or simply a combination of “bird” and “cat”(Mao nuevo). The boy can climb up structures and carry barrels. He can also operate levers. Trico’s size, agility, and strength allow it to reach places that the boy can’t reach on its own and fight off guards trying to capture him. Trico’s fear of glass eyes or gates can prevent it from moving forward. The boy must remove these obstacles. The boy must find barrels that can feed Trico, keep Trico calm after battles, and take out any spears thrown at Trico. Although the boy initially has no control over Trico’s movements, he learns how to instruct Trico to jump onto ledges and head in a particular direction.
