About Divinity: The Dragon Commander
Divinity Dragon Commander is a strategy video game that is real-time and can be played in three phases.
Each phase affects the other. The first phase is a political simulation. Here the player can have conversations with non-player characters, and make political decisions that affect the gameplay in other phases.
The player can use this phase to research abilities and influence factions. They can also receive cards that can be traded for special effects in the next two phases.
The second phase is a turn-based strategy mode that was inspired by Risk and other board games. It was originally designed as a board game during development of the game.
This mode allows the player to use the cards they have earned during the RPG phase to alter their territories, units, and those of their opponents.
